This community is composed of the German-speaking municipalities in the East of Belgium. They are part of the Arrondissement Verviers, Province Liège and the Walloon Region.
This municipalities are now (German and French names):
- Amel (Amblève)
- Büllingen (Bullange)
- Burg-Reuland
- Buetgenbach (Butgenbach)
- Eupen [capital city]
- Kelmis (La Calamine)
- Lontzen
- Raeren
- Sankt Vith (Saint-Vith)
The municipalities of Malmédy and Waimes are part of the French Community of Belgium, but do have a German-speaking minority.
The Vennbahn, Belgium's railway through Germany, did have a very specific origin and unique international status. It's now closed.
