BELGIUM-ROOTS ProjectMunicipality Brussels (Brussels Capital-Region)City BrusselsChurch St Gudule - The Pulpit (1907) (Postcard) |

This view is taken from the City Hall (Left corner is NE and the church at the right is direction E) In the foreground we see the "Maison du Roi" (House of the King in French), also named "Broodhuis" (House of the Bread in Dutch). The Dutch denomination refers to the function of that building before the Fire of 1695 and the French to the function after the Fire. In the middel we see a large part of the popular burrough around Pachaco. This that will be destroyed some years later to make place for the "North-South Railway Junction" and administrative buildings. At the horizon we see at the left the church St Marie (Schaerbeek), and at the right the cathedral St Gudule
