    Comment:

    The Flemings are at that time those who resided in what's now the Belgian districts of Brugge and Ghent OR in a larger sense those who did reside in what's now the Belgian provinces of East-Flanders, West-Flanders and Hainaut, the Dutch districts of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and the North of France. Most of them, but not all, did speak the older version of what's now Dutch.
