L'an mil huit cent quatre-vingt, le sept du mois de Janvier,

à douze heures du matin, par devant Nous, Philippe Monnoyer

Bourgmestre, Officier de l'Etat civil de la commune de Courcelles,

Hainaut, sont comparus publiquement en notre Maison commune, Nicolas

Souply, âgé de trente quatre ans, houilleur, né à Courcelles, le

Vingt cinq février mil huit cent quarante cinq et y domicilié, fils majeur

de Jean Joseph Souply, décédé à Monceau-sur-Sambre, le quatorze

Janvier mil huit cent cinquante quatre et de Marie Catherine

Lefèvre, ménagère, domiciliée à Courcelles, laquelle mère est ici

Présente et consentante, lequel comparant a satisfait à ses

obligations miliciennes suivant le certificat ci-joint

et Demoiselle Marie Thérèse Suplit, âgée de vingt neuf ans

journalière, née à Roux le treize janvier mil huit cent cinquante

et y domiciliée, fille majeure de Grégoire Suplit, journalier et de

Thérèse Heuchon, ménagère domiciliés à Roux, lesquels père et

mère sont ici présents et consentants

Lesquels nous ont requis de procéder à la célébration du mariage projeté entr'eux et dont les

publications ont été faites devant la principale porte de notre Maison commune et celle de Roux

La première le vingt un et la seconde le vingt huit décembre mil huit cent septante neuf

jours de dimanche à l'heure de midi chaque fois.

Aucune opposition au dit mariage ne nous ayant été signifiée, faisant droit à leur requisition

après avoir donné lecture de toutes les pièces ci-dessus mentionnées et du chapitre six du titre du

Code Civil intitulé: du Mariage, avons demandé au futur époux et à la fututre épouse s'ils veulent

se prendre pour mari et pour femme; chacun d'eux ayant répondu séparément et affirmativement,

déclarons, au nom de la loi, que Nicolas Souply et Marie Thérèse Suplit sont unis

par le mariage. Et au même instant les dits époux ont déclaré de vouloir

légitimer par leur présent mariage un enfant du sexe masculin né et inscrit

dans les registres de l'Etat Civil de la commune de Roux à la date du ...

... octobre mil huit cent septante-sept sous les noms de Michel Francois

Supplit, de tout quoi nous avons dressé acte en présence de Louis (?)

Goutière, âgé de quarante neuf ans, cabaretier, de Constant Hannot, âgé de

quarante quatre ans., sabotier, de Francois Jacques Bartin, âg'e de vingt huit ans,

horloger et de Théodore Deligne, âgé de cinquante sept ans

journalier, tous quatre amis des epoux domicilies a Courcelles et temoins

à ce requis. Après lecture du présent acte l'époux, le père de l'époux et le

témoin l'ont signé avec nous, les mères des époux ont déclaré ne savoir

écrire ni signer.

In the year 1880, on January 7th,

at 12 PM, before Us, Philippe Monnoyer

Mayor, civil representative of the town of Courcelles,

Hainaut, publicly came in our Courthouse, Nicolas

Souply, 34y, miner, born in Courcelles, on

25 Feb 1845, there living, adult son

of Jean Joseph Souply, who died in Monceau-sur-Sambre, on the 14

January 1854, and of Marie Catherine

Lefèvre, housewife, living in Courcelles, the mother is here

present et consenting, the groom having satisfied his

military obligations, according to the attached certificate

and Miss Marie Therese Suplit, 29y,

daylaborer, born in Roux, on Jan 13, 1850

there residing, adult daughter of Grégoire Suplit, daylaborer and of

Thérèse Heuchon, housewife, both living in Roux, both father and

mother both here and consenting

They asked that we proceed with the celebration of the planned marriage between them and for which

banns were posted on the main entrance of our courthouse and that of Roux

The first time on the 21, the second time on the 28 of December 1879,

sunday, both times at noon.

No opposition to the marriage was made, giving right to their request

after the reading of the above mentioned documens and the 6th chapter of the Title

of the Civil Code titled: of marriage, we asked the future bride and groom if they want

to take each other for husband and wife; each having answered separately and affirmatively

we declare, in the name of the law, that Nicolas Souply and Marie Therese Suplit are united

by the bonds of matrimony. At that time the said bride and groom declared that they wanted to

legitimate by their marriage, a male child born and recorded

on the Civil register of Roux on the ...

daylaborer, all 4 friends of the bride and groom, living in Courcelles, and witnesses

to this request. After the reading of the record, the groom, the groom's father and the

witness signed with us, both bride and groom's mothers declared not knowing

how to write nor sign.
